1. ROBERT1 BALDWIN was born circa 1475[43], and died between 1499 and 16 April 1536. He married (MH-2) AGNES DOLTE, daughter of (MH-1) William DOLTE. [27, 43]
The Baldwin family appears in Chesham and Dundridge, Buckinghamshire back into the thirteenth century, although father-son relationships cannot be proven. [26]

Joseph L. Chester, in an April 1884 NEHGR article, suggests that there is no good reason why the emigrant John Baldwin may not have been the John Baldwin of Aston Clinton. [33]
