Although his father in law lived in Rensselaerville, Albany Co., NY, John Hogadone is apparently not the son of John and Hannah (Lape) Hogadone of Rensselaerville, since they had a different son John.

The 1800 census for NY shows Hannah in Rensselaerville, and in Schenectady, Albany Co, NY we find Dirick D. Hogadon and Henry D. Hogadon, and in Sharon, Schoharie Co, NY we find Adam Hagadorn.
