SIR WALTER²⁸ BLOUNT (John²⁷, Walter²⁶, William²⁵, Robert²⁴, Stephen²³, Gilbert or Hubert²², William²¹, Gilbert²⁰, Robert¹⁹, Rodolphus of GUISNES¹⁸, Ardolphus¹⁷, Sigefrede the Dane¹⁶, son¹⁵, Harold V¹⁴, Gormon ANGLE¹³, Frotho¹², Cnute "the Little"¹¹, Eric "the Usurper"¹⁰, Eric "the Bern"⁹, Siward "the Snake-Eyed"⁸, Ivar⁷, Regner⁶, Siward⁵, Hemming⁴, Olaus³, Gotrick², Gormon¹), son of (39) Sir John²⁷ and (DO-10) Eleanor (BEAUCHAMP), was born about 1350 in Elwaston, and died on 21 July 1403 in Shrewsbury. He married of Elvaston, in 1371, (UC-6) SANCHA DE AYALA of Toledo, daughter of (UC-5) Don Diego Gomez and (MI-7) Inez Alfons (de AYALA), who was born about 1360, died in 1418 in Newark, and was buried in 1418 in St. Mary's, Newark. ^{[3, 2, 6]}
"Ancestry of Anne Hutchinson" shows Walter's mother as Isolda de Montjoy.

"http://www.lamartin.com/genealogy/complete peerage blount.htm" also shows him as son of Isoude.

However, "A Genealogy of the Croke Family, Originally Named Le Blount" shows him as son of Eleanor Beauchamp.

Other sources are similarly contradictory, and hence it appears that it is unknown which of John's two wives was Walter's mother. ^[6]

She married before 10 Dec. 1401, (AJZ-7) JOHN SUTTON V, [BARON DUDLEY] of Coleshill, son of (AJZ-6) John IV, [baron Dudley] and (MG-2) Alice (le DESPENSER), who was born in 1380, was christened in and Dudley, Worcestershire, and died on 29 Aug. 1406 in England. ^{[4, 2]}
