Elizabeth Cobb Stewart, in "Descendants of Andrew Ford of Weymouth, Massachusetts" argues that Andrew could not have been son of John Ford who sailed with the Hull Company as stated in the 1916 history. This is based on the fact that we had to be twenty-one or older in 1642, when Andrew is recorded as a Weymouth landowner. Hence his bithdate would be about 1620, not 1632, whereas John Ford was only born about 1605 (age 30 in 1635). Furthermore, Andrew's name does not appear on the ship's passenger list with John Ford when the 1916 history claims he travelled on the ship at age 3. Stewart also argues that Andew may have come from Somerset, not Weymouth, England.[5]
