7. Burke's Extinct Peerage identifies the father of Adam, 1st Lord, as William (son of William) who married Isabel de Vesci. We follow the Complete Peerage [13]
Child:
+8i.ADAM8 DE WELLE, 3RD LORD WELLES, b. on 22 July 1304; d. in Feb. 1344/5; m. before 1334 MARGARET.

8. He married before 1334, MARGARET[12]. [15, 13, 14]
Burke's Extinct Peerage reports that Margaret was daughter of John, (3rd) Lord Bardolf. TCP reports that that John Bardolf was one of Adam's son John's godparents. The dates certainly make it more likely that, as separately suggested by the Complete Peerage, the 2nd Lord Bardolf was Margaret's father rather than the 3rd Lord. [13]
Richardson's "Plantagenet Ancestry" states that John Bardolf (3rd Lord Bardolf) and Elizabeth Damory had one son, William, and two daughters, Isabel and Agnes. (No Margaret) [7]
Richardson's "Magna Charta Ancestry" just lists her as "Margaret" (no surname). [15]
